About BookieLens
BookieLens helps people in South Africa answer one question before they bet: is this bookmaker licensed?
What we do
Bookmakers here are licensed by 9 provincial gambling boards, and each board publishes (or does not publish) its own information. We read the official lists, put them in one searchable registry, and link every entry back to the page it came from. We also explain, in plain language, how licensing works and how to check a licence.
What we do not do
- We cover sports betting only.
- We do not rate, rank or recommend bookmakers. A listing means a board names the licensee, nothing more.
- We do not list, and will not link to, any operator that is not licensed in South Africa.
- We do not take bets and we do not link to any bookmaker's betting site.
How we are funded
BookieLens carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and no bookmaker pays us. If that ever changes we will say so on this page and mark every page it affects.
Corrections
If an entry is wrong or out of date, the board that publishes the list is the one that can fix the source. We re-read the lists and update the registry, and the date each list was read is shown on every entry. Our editorial policy sets out how we handle errors.
Gambling can harm
You must be 18 or older to bet. If betting is hurting you or someone close to you, free help is on the responsible gambling page.
