How we choose and order betting sites
This is the one page that explains our method. The ranking, the reviews and the bonuses page all follow it.
What gets a bookmaker on the list
- A South African licence we can match. The bookmaker must be on the NGB Verified Operators list, and its licence number must match a row in our registry.
- Sports betting. We do not list sites that lead with other gambling products, and we never list a site that is not licensed in South Africa.
- Pages we can open. We read the bookmaker's site and help pages ourselves. Where a bookmaker's site is closed to us, we use its App Store listing and the official licence lists, and say so on the review. Anything those pages do not show is left out, never guessed.
Today that gives 7 bookmakers. We add more as we read them, and a site stays off until it passes all three steps.
How the order is set
Bookmakers shown on both their provincial board's list and the NGB list come first, because the licence can be confirmed on two official pages. Inside each group the order is A to Z. We give no scores and no stars.
A bookmaker's position is not advice to pick it. It does not change with the commission we may earn, and if that ever changes we will say so here.
What a review is built from
- Facts come from the bookmaker's own pages and carry the date we read them. Each review lists its sources.
- The key-facts table shows short values. The full wording stays on the bookmaker's page.
- We do not open accounts, deposit money or time withdrawals. A time in a review is the time the bookmaker gives. Where its own pages disagree, the review says so.
- Offers on the bonuses page are listed only when we have read the terms. We never call an offer free, in line with the Advertising Regulatory Board rules on gambling advertising.
How we make money
Some links to bookmakers may earn us a commission if you open an account. You pay nothing extra, and the commission does not change what we write. Every button to a bookmaker is marked as an advertising link and goes through a redirect on this site.
Advertising rules we follow
We follow the gambling appendix of the Advertising Regulatory Board's code: Appendix: Gambling (read 3 Oct 2026). In short: no free-money claims, nothing that suggests winning is likely, nothing aimed at under 18s, and a responsible-gambling warning with the national helpline on every page.
