Paying in is not the same as getting paid out
Sportingbet's help centre says the withdrawal methods available to you depend on the method you deposited with [1]. It also says that only payment means and bank accounts in the account holder's name may be used for withdrawals [2].
This guide reads that help centre one method at a time, because each method has its own page with its own withdrawal answer. We also read SportyBet's FAQ, which says there is no fee on withdrawals and that they are processed within 60 minutes but may be delayed, and which names no deposit or withdrawal method [3].
We did not read the help pages of Betway, Easybet, Hollywoodbets, 10bet or World Sports Betting for this guide, so for them the gap is in our reading and says nothing about the bookmaker.
Method by method: what Sportingbet's help pages say
Each row summarises the wording on the bookmaker's page for that method. Help pages can change, and Sportingbet says the withdrawal options and timeframes for your account are in your Withdraw section [4], so treat the cashier as the final word.
| Method | Paying in | Getting paid out |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (EFT) | Credited once the transfer has cleared, which the page says can take 1 to 4 business days [5] | Yes. The page says there is no transaction fee on EFT withdrawals and that, once approved, the money arrives within 3 to 5 business days. Only bank accounts registered in the same country as your account can be used [5] |
| Ozow | Instant, and no charge for deposits [6] | No. The page says Ozow is currently available as a deposit option [6] |
| Flash 1Voucher | Instant, no charge, and the account is credited with the full voucher amount [7] | No. The page says it is currently available as a deposit option [7] |
| OTT Voucher | Instant, no charge. Partial redemption of vouchers is not supported, so the deposit must match the full voucher value [8] | The page answers no to withdrawing with an OTT Voucher [8] |
| Visa card | No fee for Visa deposits, and the balance updates within one to two minutes [9] | Yes, to a Visa card that was not issued in the USA. The page adds that Sportingbet may, at its sole discretion, pay part or all of a withdrawal by reversing earlier transactions on the card [9] |
| Mastercard | The page says there is no fee, though card companies may in rare cases charge cash advance fees. The transfer is reflected within one to two minutes [10] | The page says this option is only available to some countries and tells you to check the cashier. It also says you can only withdraw to your Mastercard if you made a successful deposit in the last 6 months using MasterCard Secure Code, and repeats the reversal wording [10] |
| Apple Pay | Within minutes, with no fees applied to deposits [11] | No. The page says Sportingbet does not currently offer Apple Pay as a withdrawal option [11] |
| Google Pay | Instant, with no fees applied, and deposits from R50 up to R1,000,000 [12] | The page gives two different answers, set out in the next section [12] |
| FNB E-Wallet | Not covered on its page, which describes withdrawing | A withdrawal method. Requests are processed in batches at 7am, 12pm, 5pm and 10pm daily. The page gives a maximum withdrawal of R3000 and a maximum wallet balance of R25000 [13] |
| Express Withdrawals | Not covered on its page, which describes withdrawing to your verified South African bank account [14] | A bank account registered in your name in South Africa. The page says a South African national's ID, or a foreign national's passport number, must match the one registered with the bank [14] |
Summaries of the bookmaker's own wording, read on 9 October 2026. We tested none of these methods.
Where the help pages differ
Google Pay's page answers the withdrawal question twice. One answer says all withdrawals are processed directly to the cards used to deposit through Google Pay. Further down, the same page says Sportingbet does not currently offer Google Pay as a withdrawal option [12]. We cannot tell which is current.
Fees are described in two ways. One page says Sportingbet does not charge any withdrawal fees [15]. The FNB E-Wallet page says there are no fees on the first withdrawal and does not say what applies after that [13].
Five help pages say something about timing, and they do not say the same thing. The table sets them side by side.
| Help page | What it says |
|---|---|
| Withdrawal procedure | All withdrawals are reviewed by the internal review team and must be approved, and the page says this will be completed within 4 hours [16] |
| Withdrawal not transferred yet | Approval by the internal review team takes approximately up to 24 hours (Monday to Friday). After that, the time needed for the transfer depends on the payment method [17] |
| Express Withdrawals | Instant if the request passes the checks, otherwise 6 to 8 hours. Regular bank transfers can take 1 to 2 business days [14] |
| Bank transfer (EFT) | Once approved, within 3 to 5 business days [5] |
| Withdrawal timeframes | Times differ by method, are shown under each method when you withdraw and in your Payment History, and are additional to internal processing times [4] |
These are separate pages of one help centre. Some describe the internal review, some the transfer after it. The timeframes page says the figure for your request is shown under your payment method when you make your withdrawal.
SportyBet's FAQ gives one figure, 60 minutes, and adds that withdrawals may be delayed [3]. Its How to Withdraw section asks you to contact support if the funds have not arrived within 48 hours [18]. Take the timeframe the cashier shows for your request and keep a screenshot of it. If the money has not arrived in that time, ask support in writing.
What SportyBet's pages say
SportyBet's FAQ is short on payment detail. It says there is no fee on withdrawals and that they are processed within 60 minutes, but may be subject to delays. It names no deposit or withdrawal method [3].
SportyBet's terms refer readers to a Deposits/Withdrawals page for how to deposit, withdraw and transfer funds [19]. The terms carry no link to it.
The help centre's Others page has How to Deposit and How to Withdraw sections [18]. The deposit section names kinds of method (vouchers, EFTs, Instant Pay and credit card payment gateways) but no specific one, and the withdrawal section says funds go to your nominated bank account [18]. Where withdrawals can go, the account-holder rule and the play-through rule are covered in our guide to withdrawal fees and payout conditions.
One rule bears on how you pay in. If you use a credit or debit card, SportyBet's terms say the cardholder's name must be the same as the name used when registering, and that otherwise the account will be suspended [19].
Before you choose how to deposit
- Find where withdrawals are listed. Sportingbet says the available withdrawal options and timeframes are in the Withdraw section of your account [4]. Look for the same screen at your bookmaker, or ask support in writing which methods can pay out to you.
- Work out where winnings can go. A voucher or an online payment service may only work one way. Sportingbet's pages say its Ozow, Flash 1Voucher and OTT Voucher options do not pay out [6] [7] [8].
- Have a bank account in your own name. Both bookmakers we read pay out only to the account holder [2] [19].
- If you plan to withdraw to a card, read that card's page. Sportingbet's Mastercard page ties card withdrawals to a successful deposit in the last 6 months, and both card pages say part or all of a withdrawal may be paid by reversing earlier card transactions [10] [9].
- Keep the wording. Screenshot the page and note the date. A help page can change, and the cashier is what applies to your account.
If a withdrawal changes or stalls
Sportingbet says that, as an internal security precaution, withdrawals are subject to modification by its Financial Service Department [20]. If a withdrawal is changed or does not arrive, ask support in writing what is behind it and keep the reply.
If that does not settle it, check the bookmaker's licence and contact the provincial board that issued it. If the board has not been able to assist, the NGB says to escalate the complaint in writing to [email protected] [21].
