Deposits and withdrawals in rand

The App Store listing names no payment method and gives no minimum deposit, no deposit limit, no withdrawal time and no withdrawal fee. The one payment detail it gives is that the Tele-Bet and Support Centre can take a deposit by phone. We did not read the operator's own site or help pages, where the rest normally sits.

Open the cashier before you deposit and look at the limit and fee for the method you plan to use. Ask support in writing how long a withdrawal takes and whether a deposit must be played through before you can withdraw. Neither point is in the listing, and both decide how soon money reaches your account.

Sports, racing and bet rules

The listing says it offers markets and competitive odds across all major sporting events, and gives horse racing most of its space. It says the brand was first to market on all carded racing meetings, with ante-post and race-time odds and large win and place limits. Those are the operator's own claims. We did not test them, and prices differ from race to race.

The listing gives no minimum stake, maximum stake or maximum win, and no list of sports or markets. Read those on the betslip and in the terms before you place a bet. If you bet each way, read how place terms work in the terms first.

A multi bet pays only if every leg wins, so adding legs for a bigger return also lowers your chance of one. Check the odds before you confirm, and remember that a bet cannot usually be cancelled once it is accepted.

The Tele-Bet line and racing focus

The Tele-Bet and Support Centre is the feature the listing leans on. It says the centre is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and lets customers speak to a representative to place a bet, make a deposit, query an account and request results at any time.

A phone line suits a punter who prefers to talk to a person, or who wants a race result confirmed. It also means a bet is placed through a call, so check the stake, the runner and the odds with the representative before you agree, and ask for a reference for the bet.

The listing also describes other gambling products at length. This guide covers sports betting only, in line with the Advertising Regulatory Board's code, which treats online sports betting as legal and online gambling as illegal.

The World Sports Betting app

The iOS app is published on the South African App Store by World Sports Betting Holdings (Pty) Ltd and carries a 17+ age rating. It first appeared on 4 March 2024, and version 1.2.5 came out on 24 July 2026. It needs iOS 15.6 or later and about 2 MB of space.

On the App Store, 31 people have rated it, for an average of 1.7 out of 5. That is a low score on a small number of ratings, and it measures the app, not payout speed or customer service. The latest release note says it fixed an issue where logging in with Face ID could close the app.

Read the recent reviews on the App Store page before you install, and keep the phone line in mind as a fallback. This review covers the iOS listing. We did not confirm an official Android listing for South Africa, so take any Android install link only from the operator's own site.

Customer support

Support runs through the Tele-Bet and Support Centre, which the listing says is open 24/7, 365 days a year. It names no other channel and gives no phone number, email address or chat link, so take those from the operator's own site.

We did not test response times and cannot say how quickly an answer arrives. For a withdrawal or verification query, ask in writing as well as by phone so you keep a record in case you later need to take a complaint to the provincial board.

Registration, FICA and verification

The listing does not describe how registration and identity checks work, and we did not read the operator's sign-up pages. South African bookmakers must confirm who you are, so expect to give your ID number, cellphone number and proof of address, and do it before your first withdrawal. Our guide to betting in South Africa walks through the steps.

The listing carries an App Store age rating of 17+ and no age line of its own. The legal age to bet is 18, and you must be 18 or older to register.

Safer gambling tools

The listing describes no responsible gambling tool and no helpline. Look in your account for a deposit limit, a time out or self-exclusion before you bet, and ask support in writing if you cannot find them. Set a deposit limit first, not after a losing run.

Our responsible gambling page explains the national programme, the counselling line and how to exclude yourself from betting. A phone line that is open at all hours makes a limit more useful, because a bet is always one call away.

The company and its sponsorships

The listing says World Sports Betting was founded in 2002. The App Store names World Sports Betting Holdings (Pty) Ltd as the app's publisher, while the licences on the official lists sit with several companies, including SWB Solutions (Pty) Ltd in the Western Cape.

People's Post reported in February 2024 that World Sports Betting had become headline sponsor of the Western Province Cricket Association's professional men's and women's teams, and that Newlands would be renamed World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground. Its chief executive called the brand the current sponsor of the Cape Met horse race, and its sponsorship manager said it has multiple retail outlets in and around Cape Town.

A sponsorship shows where a company spends on marketing. It says nothing about how it treats customers or how quickly it pays. We treat the People's Post report as press background, not as a statement about the betting service.

Licence and who holds it

The National Gambling Board's Verified Operators list shows SWB Solutions (Pty) Ltd, trading as World Sports Betting Western Cape, at a Century City address under Western Cape licence 10181495-013. The Western Cape board's licence-holder list also names the company.

Our registry also holds World Sports Betting rows for Gauteng, where World Sports Betting (Pty) Ltd has four branch licences, for KwaZulu-Natal, where World Sports Betting KZN (Pty) Ltd holds a licence for several premises including two racecourses, and for Mpumalanga, where two Mbombela entries appear. Most of those are for physical betting shops.

The listing does not name a regulator or a licence number, so we matched the Western Cape licence by the brand and company names on the official lists. Confirm it yourself on the Verified Operators list before you deposit.
